Does Any of This Feel Familiar?
Anxiety isn't just worry. It's the 2am thought spiral that won't quit. It's rehearsing conversations before they happen and replaying them long after. It's the tension in your chest that shows up before a meeting, a phone call, or sometimes nothing at all.
You've probably tried to think your way out of it. You know your thoughts aren't always rational. You might even know exactly why you feel this way. And yet, the anxiety keeps coming back.
That's not a failure of insight. That's anxiety living in your nervous system, not just your mind.
- Your brain is always scanning for what could go wrong
- You hold tension in your body: your jaw, your shoulders, your stomach
- You overthink decisions long after they're made
- People describe you as calm and capable; inside, it feels like the opposite
- You push through anyway, but the cost keeps adding up
- Rest feels unearned, and slowing down makes it worse, not better
If you've nodded along to any of these, you're not broken. Your nervous system learned to stay alert. Anxiety therapy can help it learn something different.
My Approach to Anxiety Therapy
I'm Jenny Yuzon, a Registered Social Worker (MSW RSW) and Master of Social Work graduate (University of Windsor) with 15+ years of clinical experience in mental health services, schools, community outreach, and recovery centres across Ontario. I'm also a Certified Brainspotting Therapist and Certified Havening Techniques Practitioner, and trained in somatic, ACT, attachment-focused, Polyvagal Theory-informed, and sensorimotor approaches: a combination that allows me to work with both your mind and your body, not just the story you can put into words.
Most anxiety treatment focuses on changing thoughts. Cognitive approaches are valuable, and they're part of what I draw on. But for many people, especially those who are already self-aware and insightful, insight alone doesn't move the anxiety. The activation lives deeper: in the body, in the nervous system, in patterns that formed long before you had words for them.
My approach works with both. We use somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and brain-body processing to help your system actually feel safe, not just understand that it is.

How Anxiety Therapy Works at Jenuine Therapy
Sessions are virtual, paced around your nervous system, and genuinely collaborative. There's no agenda you have to match or script you have to follow.
Depending on where you are and what feels most useful, we might:
- Slow down and notice what anxiety actually feels like in your body, rather than just what it's telling your mind
- Use somatic and grounding tools tailored to your unique nervous system
- Identify the patterns underneath the anxiety: the beliefs, the early experiences, the relational dynamics that keep it alive
- Use Brainspotting to locate and process where anxiety is stored in the nervous system, without needing to retell everything in detail
- Draw on ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to loosen anxiety's grip on how you make decisions and move through your day
What to Expect Over Time
Healing isn't linear, and it looks different for everyone. That said, over time people often notice:
In your body and nervous system:
- Less physical tension and that baseline hum of activation
- A growing capacity to feel settled, even in situations that used to trigger a stress response
In your thoughts and patterns:
- Less urgency in the thought spiral; more space between the trigger and the reaction
- Reduced perfectionism and overthinking, especially around decisions
- More ability to rest without guilt or that restless feeling that something is wrong
In your life and relationships:
- More confidence in your own judgment and less second-guessing
- Reduced people-pleasing driven by anxiety rather than genuine care
- More capacity to show up for others without abandoning yourself in the process
